Scam Alert: from Exhibition Housing Services

It has been brought to our attention that a third-party housing company, Exhibition Housing Services, has made contact with some attendees and exhibitors trying to get them to book hotel rooms through their service. Exhibition Housing Services and other third parties are not affiliated in any way with IUFRO, SAF, or CIF. Third-party companies, such as Exhibition Housing Services, sometimes promise rooms in hotels where they do not actually have rooms. There is the potential to be left without a room and to lose money paid in advance.

Deposit

All reservation requests must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee or check equaling the amount of one night’s room and tax for each room reserved.

Acknowledgments

Orchid Event Solutions will send reservation acknowledgements within 24 hours via email if booked online or by telephone; fax and mail acknowledgements will be sent within 72 hours of receipt. If you do not receive your acknowledgement in this time frame, contact Orchid Event Solutions. You will not receive a written confirmation from the hotel, it will come from Orchid Event Solutions.

Cancellations, Changes and Refunds

Your hotel may charge up to a full deposit of one night’s room rate and tax if you cancel within 72 hours of arrival date.
