Salt Lake City boasts a large international airport, welcoming 20 million passengers from around the world in 2012 alone. Travel to and from Salt Lake City can be either direct or through a number of other international airports around the United States. The 2014 IUFRO World Congress has formed a partnership the SkyTeam Alleance, which will offer discounted airfares for participants.

Delta Airlines:

American Airlines:

Travel around Salt Lake City

 
As of October 2013, the TRAX light rail line will run from the airport to downtown Salt Lake City. Riders can board at the station and Welcome Center just outside terminal one. The fare is $2.50 and trains will run every 15 minutes. THe Utah Transit Authority runs a bus from the airport to the city center every day for $2.25 one way. Bus stops are located in the parking structure between Terminals 1 and 2. Please visit www.rideuta.com for schedules. Express Shuttle costs $8(one-way) from the airport to downtown hotels. A counter is available in the airport or by calling (800) 397-0773.

Taxis are available outside Door #7 and Door #11 at the airport. A trip from airport to downtown hotels takes about 15 minutes and will cost around $25.

Several hotels also offer complimentary shuttle service from the airport; please check your hotel website to see if this service is available.

There are several rental car agencies located in the airport. Prices depend on the type of vehicle and rental period. A valid driver’s license issued in your home country is required, and obtaining an international Driving Permit is also a good idea. More information can be found here.

Travel from the Airport to Downtown Salt Lake City

 
The Salt Palace Convention Center and surrounding Congress hotels are all within four blocks of each other, making walking the best choice for quick and easy transportation. The TRAX light rail runs just one block east of the Convention Center, making getting around simple. Buses also run throughout the city. Please see www.rideuta.com for more information.
